MSMC tabled on both Tuesday, January 27th and Wednesday, January 28th at the SSMU Winter Activities Night. Our Execs and Mentees behind the table were happy to meet interested students and share some of our favourite club experiences. We are excited for Winter 2026 and are looking forward to seeing both new faces and familiar ones at our events all semester long!

canadian olympic committee workplace visit

On Thursday, November 20th, thirty MSMC members headed into the heart of downtown Montreal to visit the Canadian Olympic Committee office. This was the inaugural workplace visit for MSMC, representing a brand=new initiative for the club. We heard from 4 panels of speakers, took a guided tour of the workplace, and even went home with some merch! It was an amazing, informative afternoon. We thank the entire COC team for hosting us!

mentorship reveal party

Also on Thursday, November 13, successful applicants to our Mentorship Program were invited to a congratulatory event at La Belle & La Boeuf. The new cohort of Mentees watched a Canadiens game and got to know each other. A new club tradition started when envelopes were passed out and opened all at the same time, the name of each Mentee’s assigned Mentor being revealed in that instant. Congratulations to the 2025-2026 cohort of Mentees- we are excited to see your projects come together over the next months!

Students from around the globe propose a strategic partnership for one of MLSE’s sports properties, with the top 5% being invited to Toronto to pitch their ideas to MLSE executives. We wish good luck to all the MSMC members participating in this year’s competition!

russ anber coffee chat

In collaboration with the McGill Boxing Club, MSMC hosted Russ Anber for a coffee chat on Tuesday, November 4th. After a catered dinner from St. Hubert, we heard all about Russ’s unique career journey, which includes everything in the world of boxing from competing to coaching to commentating. Students also had the chance to ask Russ questions following the moderated discussion. We thank Russ Anber for visiting us and sharing his insights!

exec networking & hockey watch party

Our first event of the year was on Tuesday, September 23rd! To kick off 2025-2026, we hosted a watch party for the Flyers and Canadiens game at Ye Olde Orchard Pub on Prince Arthur. It was an opportunity for students to network with the new executive team, ask questions about the Mentorship Program, and just have fun! We are looking forward to a great year and had a wonderful evening meeting all the students interested in joining MSMC!
